New Orleans police arrest the Elvis impersonator’s death


A 28-year-old man was arrested Saturday in Louisiana and charged with the death of a well-known Elvis impersonator.

Trace Pigott was taken into custody in New Orleans after a police officer identified as Jason Baglio was found shot and killed multiple times early Saturday morning in Denham Springs, northwest town, FOX 8 reported in New Orleans.

Baglio has reportedly often performed under the name Jayson Alfano.

Pigott fled the scene after the shooting and was later arrested by New Orleans police.

Tommy Ray, 53, Pigott’s father, was reportedly at the shooting and was still wanted by police, according to FOX 8.

Police said it was not clear what led to the shooting.

The suspect is being sent to Livingston Ward’s detention center for second degree murder, The Advocate reported. He was held in Orleans Parish Prison.
