Barstool’s Dave Portnoy tells Tucker that he would never run for president

Barstool Sports Founder and CEO David Portnoy revealed the key to his professional success and whether he will seek political office in an open new episode of Fox Nation’s “Tucker Carlson Today”.

In less than eight months since Portnoy launched The Barstool Fund with its own $ 500,000, the fundraiser has reached nearly $ 40 million and helped over 300 small businesses afloat in coronavirus shutdowns . Portnoy told Carlson that he felt compelled to step in because the federal government was doing little to stop the pandemic’s economic bleeding.

“I think it’s pretty disgusting that the government didn’t do something much earlier,” said Portnoy.

JORDAN PETERSON TELLS TUCKER: DO YOU WANT THE TRUTH ON YOUR SIDE OR DO YOU UNDERSTAND FALSE?

“You caused it, and it’s not that difficult. It took me 24 hours to develop this concept and get it going. Everyone should want to help small businesses, so it was disheartening to see the government doing nothing, I’m glad we were able to help a little. “

After the overwhelming success of his initiative, Portnoy has been repeatedly asked to consider running for public office. But the icon “El Presidente” told Carlson that he would “never” entertain the idea “because nothing can be done.”

“I don’t know if people are serious or not, but they are like taking office – do this,” Portnoy said. “I would never do that because there is nothing you can do.”

Later in the interview, Carlson asked how the outspoken personality manages to stay above the political struggle and not be afraid of breaking off cultural mobs that dominate large digital platforms.

“There are a lot of people who I consider liberal, well-educated people, and when I ask, ‘Do you like bar stools?’ They all say, “Yeah, we love it.” Then we ask how is that possible. Then they say we know who Dave is, we’ve been following him for 10 years. So when you mention politics, we have both sides ” He said to Carlson.

“It’s easy to choose, but our storyline is written and luckily at this point I know how real and strong our audiences are. I always say brick by brick, but it really is. We have very strong foundations and they ‘I’m not going anywhere so I’m not going to let the winds of political change or whatever it is change the way we see the world. “
