Bill Maher tests positive for coronavirus, “real-time” recording canceled


Bill Maher has tested positive for coronavirus.

In a tweet from the official Real Time with Bill Maher account, it was announced that the 65-year-old comedian had tested positive for the novel virus, which resulted in his show being recorded on Friday May 14th. was canceled.

“Bill tested positive for COVID during the staff’s weekly PCR testing,” it said the announcement. “He is fully vaccinated and therefore asymptomatic and feels good.”

The statement added that the show’s production “took all precautions under CDC guidelines”.

“Currently, no other employees or crew members have tested positive,” the statement assured. “The show will be postponed at a later date.”

The star’s representatives did not immediately respond to Fox News’ request for comment.

As is so often the case, Maher has voiced his thoughts on the coronavirus pandemic and recently slammed blue states to keep schools closed.

In his final monologue in April, Maher targeted media “panic porn” during the pandemic, citing a Dartmouth study that showed that “nearly 90 percent” of national media coverage in the US compared to other countries was negative, though the conditions got better.
