Embiid plays in Game 1 for 76 with an injured right knee


Joel Embiid was even in the starting line-up for Game 1 of the Philadelphia 76ers’ Eastern Conference playoff series on Sunday with a torn cartilage in his right knee.

Embiid and the top seeded Sixers face the Atlanta Hawks in the semi-finals of the Eastern Conference.

Embiid was injured in Monday’s Game 4 loss to Washington in the opening round and missed the crucial point in Game 5. He was limited to shooting drills in practice this week and his status was uncertain even during the warm-up.

The Sixers are 42-13 with the NBA MVP finalists in the lineup. Without him they are 11-11.

Atlantas De’Andre Hunter missed the start with a sore right knee.
