Taco Bell is offering free tacos for COVID-19 vaccines – but only in this state

Taco Bell wants Californians to get their COVID-19 vaccines.

On Friday, the fast food chain announced that it would join California Governor Gavin Newsom’s Vax for the win incentive program.

The company announced that it will be giving away a Nacho Cheese Doritos Locos Taco on June 15 to customers who show their COVID-19 vaccination cards at the participating California Taco Bells.

The southern California-based brand said it joined the incentive program to thank fans for “doing their part to keep California safe while the state reopens fully.”

“It’s been a tough year and we are all ready to leave COVID-19 behind,” said Mark King, CEO of Taco Bell Corp., in a statement. “We’re excited to do our part and give back to our home state something everyone knows and loves to celebrate those who choose to vaccinate.”

There are many other discounts and freebies available for vaccinated Americans, even those who do not live in California.

Krispy Kreme, for example, gives anyone who can show their vaccination card a free donut every day for the rest of the year. By June 1, the company had given away more than 1.5 million donuts.
