David Bossie: Radical Dems Attack Manchin – GOP should be ready to welcome the West Virginia Senator

The answer to the question of who is really in control of the Democratic Party is getting worse. Is it President Joe Biden or Reps Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, DN.Y., Rashida Tlaib, D-Mich. and Ilhan Omar, D-Minn.?

At 73, Joe Manchin is a well-known figure in the US Senate. Some people go about their business and somehow manage to get elected over and over again, though their home state of West Virginia is becoming more conservative every year. He was narrowly re-elected in 2018, despite President Trump getting 69% of the vote to West Virginia in both 2016 and 2020.

So how does Manchin do it? The senior senator from West Virginia is something of a throwback to the old days. He seems to be more focused on his constituents than looking for the next cheap political stunt.

Some people think before speaking – the opposite of so many Democrats today. And it’s refreshing to hear an elected official go on TV and refer to members of the other party as friends.

Wyoming Senator Cynthia Lummis is right – Republican senators should invite Manchin to their caucus. The intolerant demolition culture does not want a spirited debate or conflicting ideas that do not lead to the destruction of our constitutional republic. Many wonder whether the radicalization of today’s Manchin Democratic Party has gone too far.

Manchin is one of the last democrats in the country to fight for the rights of the second amendment and against abortion advocates. Its moderate stance is Washington’s worst-kept secret, but apparently the radical left currently rioting on Capitol Hill did not believe that Manchin would stick to its principles at the end of the day. Boy were you wrong.

The socialists in charge of Congress – House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer, DN.Y., and their deputies – seem baffled when some people oppose bourgeois ideas like that Wrapping up the Supreme Court and killing the filibuster poses and banning protections for the identity of voters.

More of opinion

They are so surprised that the troubled radicals literally go insane trying to come up with an answer. Unfortunately, they have come up with a smear campaign full of veiled threats and ad hominem attacks against one of their own.

But false attacks – like the sleazy insinuation that Manchin is a racist – won’t cause him to change his mind, defy the disastrous For the People Act, or save the filibuster.

For example, when New York Democratic Congressman Mondaire Jones says, “Sen. Manchin would prefer Jim Crow to maintain an outdated theory of bipartisanism that frankly doesn’t exist,” he is doing President Biden or the liberal agenda a disservice.

And when the left-wing expert Jemele Hill tweeted: “This is such a trademark for this country. A record number of black voters show up to save this democracy just to keep white supremacy from a cowardly, power-hungry white guy. @ Sen_JoeManchin is a clown “, she drives Manchin further away instead of asking how she can get him back on board if there are other problems.

Some people know these numbers and they know how best to govern in times like these.

Push Joe Manchin at your own risk. The Senator knows a mandate when he sees one, and he knows that Biden, Vice President Harris, Schumer and Pelosi were not given a mandate to fundamentally change America.

The presidential election was voted with about 42,000 votes in three states, Pelosi has a tiny 219-211 majority in the House of Representatives, and Schumer cannot pass anything in the Senate without keeping each member of his faction on board for a specific vote.

Some people know these numbers and they know how best to govern in times like these.

Joe Manchin just preaches the obvious. He wants to achieve something through consensus that will support the American people. After all, this is the message of the voters in 2020. And for that, Manchin is described by the left as the worst things that can be imagined.

Don’t get me wrong, I’m not with Manchin on many issues. In fact, Citizens United spent about $ 500,000 to beat him in his 2018 Senate race against West Virginia’s great Attorney General Patrick Morrisey. But that doesn’t mean Manchin doesn’t love America or that he should be labeled a racist for not following the socialist party line.

If Biden were able to stand up to his executives and the liberal special-interest groups, he would be putting the brakes on his impassable radical agenda – but not holding his breath. The Democratic Party is out of joint and too afraid of the world’s AOCs to change direction.

Perhaps one day some people will wake up with the famous quote from President Ronald Reagan: “I have not left the Democratic Party, the Party has left me.”
