Vladimir Guerrero Jr. will represent the Toronto Blue Jays in the MLB All-Star Game later this month and received warm congratulations from his legendary father.
Vladimir Guerrero played 16 seasons in the Major Leagues – especially the Montreal Expos and the Los Angeles Angels. He’s been an all-star nine times and now his son is about to have his first.

“You went to the All-Star game with me when you were a little kid, and today you’re the youngest player to ever top the MLB in the All-Star poll,” tweeted Guerrero. “I am a proud father!”

The tweet included a picture of a young Guerrero Jr. with his father at one of the All-Star Games.
Guerrero Jr. was the lead fan tuner for this year’s game. At the start of Thursday, the 22-year-old Toronto first baseman was second in home runs (26), RBIs (66) and batting average (0.336).
“I’m productive for my team this year to help my team win,” he said of MLB.com. “When I look back on the last year and the previous year, I’m more proud of my production this year. Just to help my team win.”
The Blue Jays are third in the American League East with a 41-38 record.

The All-Star Game takes place on July 13th at Coors Field in Denver.
