Angelina Jolie is suing Brad Pitt for selling her French lock and wine business.
According to legal documents received by Fox News, the “Maleficent” actress was eager to sell her interest in the ex-members’ Miraval Chateau Winery. After two years, Jolie’s team says they have found a third party interested in buying Nouvel, LLC, but they cannot sign the deal due to automatic injunctions (ATROs) that go into effect immediately after the former couple’s divorce proceedings stepped.
In a memo obtained from Fox News, Jolie’s attorney, Joseph Mannis, tells the court to overturn the ATROs so they can close the deal before the buyer withdraws.
Mannis argues that Jolie acquired Nouvel, LLC prior to her marriage to Pitt and that she is the “sole member”.

Documents indicate that a hearing on the matter is expected to take place on September 22nd, but “time is of the essence” as the third-party buyer may withdraw from the deal.
Jolie’s legal team claim the motion was made because Pitt’s attorney Lance Spiegel failed to provide an answer on why they oppose lifting the ATROs.
“At the time of signing this declaration, I did not receive a response to my inquiry dated June 25, 2021 as to whether the respondent stipulates a repeal of the ATROs as they may apply to the sales transaction in question Respondent to block the sale, apart from the existence of the ATROs, “writes Mannis.

Jolie’s team made a similar request in late June, the documents read, but the Hon. Judge Andrew Giza denied this for “lack of evidence of imminent danger / irreparable damage or imminent loss / danger to property”.
It now appears that Jolie has been wanting to sell her interest in the winery for years. The director hired Laurent Schummer, a lawyer in Luxembourg, to assist in the sale of Nouvel, LLC to a third party. In a memo to the court, Schummer says Jolie is “very interested in finalizing the pending purchase agreement.”

The court was also informed that Jolie “does not want to hold separate real estate assets with her ex-husband or be his unwilling and disregarded business partner”.
