Florida man arrested after falling through the airport gate and stepping into the Coast Guard cockpit: Sheriff


A Florida man faces multiple charges after allegedly driving through a security gate at a Tampa airport and getting into the cockpit of a Coast Guard C-130 aircraft on Saturday morning, officials said.

Hamilton Moreno, 36, charged with leading MPs on a runway at St. Pete-Clearwater International Airport in a vehicle that was reported stolen the night before, before 5 a.m. ET, the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Department said in a statement.

(The suspect led an agent across the runway at St. Pete-Clearwater International Airport in a stolen car before getting into the cockpit of a Coast Guard C-130.)

Moreno was arrested after crashing through a Coast Guard security gate, leaving the car in a hangar and climbing into the empty C-130, the sheriff’s department said.

The suspect has been detained in Pinellas County Jail for escape, trespassing, aggravated car theft, common traffic offender, burglary and double criminal mischief.

His bond was set at $ 24,150.
